Sanford

We’re neither a business nor a system. We’re people with a mission.  The Good Samaritan Society – Deuel County is a Medicare- and Medicaid-certified center that prepares a personal care plan for each resident. Staff members regularly review these plans with residents and resident family members to make sure each individual’s needs are met. They offer a full spectrum of services, including rehabilitation services, senior housing with services, assisted living and long-term skilled care. In addition to the Sanford Medical Center and the Good Samaritan Home, the presence of DJO Global (a medical product manufacturing plant) means that the medical industry has a healthy presence in the area. This is supported by several medical, nursing, and therapy programs offered at nearby Lake Area Technical Institute.

The I-29 Corridor

There is much interest in leveraging the I-29 corridor the runs along the west edge of the county and provides access to major cities to both the north and south. Although there are no active programs to acquire, develop, or promote land along the corridor, DADI is eager to assist with inquiries by any interested parties. Recently, as early as 2016, Deuel County has worked with Kingsbury, Hamlin, Brookings, and Moody with USDA's Strong Economies Together (S.E.T.) working towards partnering, advocating a quality of life, workforce issues and working to improve sustainability and managing growth.
